Here is a list of trusted organizations whose work should be uplifted in the wake of the immense suffering taking place and the escalating violence in Israel and Palestine.
We compiled a list of humanitarian aid organizations in Gaza not because the victims in the Negev are unworthy of aid and solidarity, but because in Gaza there are no bomb shelters, no warning sirens, and the healthcare infrastructure is tragically gutted following decades of closure and siege. Whole neighborhoods are devastated by the recent air strikes and we want to do want we can to alleviate at least a little suffering in this devastation.
We know that decades of occupation, apartheid, and closure in Gaza led to this moment. Only freedom, equality, solidarity, and an end to the siege of Gaza can bring a future of dignity for all. We mourn the loss of life in the region, hope every victim in Gaza and the Negev gets the care they need, and our hearts are with the families. We stand with all those calling not for reprisal but for a just and lasting peace.
Contribute to these organizations in mutual aid with Gaza:
1. Palestine Red Crescent Society:
“Our mission is to provide humanitarian assistance as well as health and social services to Palestinians whenever and wherever needed. It works towards preventing and allaying human suffering, protecting life and health, ensuring the respect of human dignity, preventing disease, and promoting health, social care and volunteering both in times of peace and war as well as during emergencies, crises and disasters.”
2. Medical Aid For Palestinians:
“Medical Aid for Palestinians is responding to the current emergency in Gaza, where hospitals are struggling to cope with an influx of serious injuries.
MAP’s team on the ground is releasing our entire pre-positioned stock of essential drugs, disposables and essential healthcare supplies from our warehouses to hospitals treating those injured in Israel’s aerial bombardment of Gaza.”
3. Palestine Children’s Relief Fund:
“PCRF is the primary humanitarian organization in Palestine, delivering crucial and life-saving medical relief and humanitarian aid where it is needed most. Access to essential resources like food, clean water, and healthcare is severely limited. Urgent action is needed to prevent a greater humanitarian catastrophe. With your support, we can continue this vital work, ensuring that the over one million children of Gaza receive the urgent care they need and deserve.”
“We Are We Are Not Numbers (WANN) is a youth-led Palestinian nonprofit project in the Gaza Strip. It tells the stories behind the numbers of Palestinians in the news and advocates for their human rights. WANN was founded and conceived in early 2015 by the American journalist Pam Bailey. Through this platform, we share and celebrate the stories, daily personal struggles and triumphs, the tears and the laughter, and the aspirations of Palestinians that are so universal that if it were not for the context, they would immediately resonate with virtually everyone.”
5. Al Mezan Center For Human Rights:
“Al Mezan Center for Human Rights is an independent, non-partisan, non-governmental human rights organization based in the Gaza Strip. Since its establishment in 1999, Al Mezan has been dedicated to protecting and advancing the respect of human rights — especially economic, social and cultural rights — supporting victims of violations of international human rights law and international humanitarian law, and enhancing democracy, community and citizen participation, and respect for the rule of law in Gaza as part of the occupied Palestinian territory.”

[…] If you are angry, as I am, that US tax dollars are going towards violence far away rather than healing at home (in the form of healthcare, education, or other social services), you can use this tool to write to your congresspeople or this tool to call your representatives and ask that they oppose continued funding of Israel’s military. You can donate; here’s a list of good places to send your money. […]
