This comfortable hotel is nestled in the foothills between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, situated in Neve Shalom/Wahat al Salam, the only cooperative village of Jews and Palestinian Arabs of Israeli citizenship who have chosen to live side-by-side in a reality of peace. The community serves as a beacon of light to the rest of the country.

Staying at the village hotel provides guests with the opportunity to learn about the development of the village and the challenges involved in maintaining this unique community.

The hotel is ideally situated in an area of natural beauty, in the heartland of Israel, within easy access of the Ben Gurion International Airport, Jerusalem, the coastal plain and scenic and historical sites.

The 39-room hotel offers comfortable accommodations, single-story air-conditioned rooms, each with separate entrance, private balcony, shower, telephone and radio. Internet access is also available. Facilities include a large outdoor swimming pool (open in summer), a restaurant, catering facilities, conference halls, seminar rooms, and other unique functions such as the “House of Silence.”

Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam was founded in 1970 on land leased (and later given) to it by the adjacent Monastery of Latroun. In 1977 the first family came to reside here. By 2006, about 52 families were settled in the village. The members of Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam are demonstrating the possibility of coexistence between Jews and Palestinians by developing a community based on mutual acceptance, respect and cooperation.

Democratically governed and owned by its members, the community is not affiliated with any political party or movement. Neve Shalom/Wahat al-Salam gives practical expression to its vision through its various branches.

In addition to accommodation for the individual traveller and groups, the hotel offers a wide range of group programs, including brief introductions to the work of the village, seminars on peace and conflict-resolution work and alternative tourism. Individuals or families can also join ongoing programs when available,  or just come and enjoy the setting and the people.
