Off the beaten track tours • Visit sites • Meet locals • Discuss Human Rights & Politics

Israeli occupation forces raided Birzeit University on January 6th and wounded 11 students while firing bullets, tear gas, and stun grenades. The invasion was premeditated and coincided with a student protest in solidarity with Palestinian prisoners.

We spoke with student activist Mohammed Hureini about his firsthand experience of the raid and what it represents as part of a broader assault on Palestinian education, scholarship, and sovereignty. Mohammed is currently a student at Birzeit University and a member of Youth of Sumud, a grassroots collective in Masafer Yatta that documents human rights violations, accompanies community members facing settler violence, and participates in broader efforts to counter land expropriation and forced transfer.

This recording of the webinar is free and open to the public, but you can contribute to the Green Olive Collective at this link to sustain our work to challenge the violence of occupation and advocate for a democratic future.
