Uprooting Christian Zionism
Residents of Burin have watched for years as Christian Zionist volunteers from HaYovel collude with violent settlers in Har Bracha and other settlements to advance the seizure of their lands and the destruction of their olive orchards under the protection of the Israeli military. These volunteers are representatives of a powerful network of Christian Zionist lobbies, nonprofits, and national organizations that are a lynchpin of contemporary geopolitical support for the ongoing Nakba.
We joined on Sunday, November 30th for a timely conversation investigating the destructive impact of Christian Zionist initiatives in the Nablus District and the theological catastrophe they represent. We spoke with Ghassan Najjar of the Burin Land and Farming Cooperative and Omar Haramy of the Sabeel Liberation Theology Center to better understand the practical and ethical implications of Christian Zionism and how to counteract them. This recording of the webinar is free and open to the public, but you can contribute to the Green Olive Collective at this link to sustain our work to challenge the violence of occupation and advocate for a democratic future.
