On March 6 the decision was made by the Palestinian and Israeli Ministries of Health to close access to several large West Bank cities to help contain the spread of corona virus. Although this has forced us to cancel some of tours, it also allowed us to create a new tour for the month of March which we are really excited about! Middle Easterners are a resilient people who are used to adversity, and we are proud to still be able to show you the famous hospitality.
Our new West Bank Wrap Up tour will allow you to experience the best of the West Bank without needing to enter any quarantined areas. You’ll meet your driver and guide in Jerusalem, and then after a short 20-minute drive you’ll cross a checkpoint and enter the West Bank. The specific route will depend on the circumstances each day, but we are in constant communication with the authorities to ensure you get to see as much as possible without being in any risk of breaking the health and safety rules.
Bedouin camp and West Bank barrier |
The weather in March is perfect for exploring some of the lesser known, rural areas of the West Bank. The hills are bright green and flowers bloom everywhere. We’ll take you to see Israeli settlements and Palestinian villages alike. Seeing the similarities and differences help you to understand the complex political and social situation.
You will be able to come up close and personal with the infamous Israeli West Bank barrier (Separation Wall/Security Fence) and will cross checkpoints. This will help you understand what life under Occupation is like and our expert guides will be able to provide facts, encounters and stories to bring the West Bank to life.
On this tour so far, it has been possible to meet with Palestinian farmers, see the Jordan River at the site where Christ was baptised, and even float in the Dead Sea. Click here to make a reservation now.
